Fire Door Hardware & Accessories — Complete Ironmongery for IS:3614 Compliant Assemblies

A fire door is only as effective as the hardware that completes it. The door leaf, frame, hinges, seals, closer, and lock are all part of a single tested and certified assembly under IS:3614-2021 and BS:476. Substituting any component with a non-specified alternative invalidates the fire rating, creates liability, and will fail inspection by fire NOC authorities and insurance assessors.

Intumescent and Smoke Seals

Intumescent seals expand on exposure to heat, sealing the gap between door leaf and frame to block flames and hot gases. IFES supplies intumescent seals in 20×4 mm, 15×4 mm, and 10×4 mm profiles, along with cold smoke seals (brush or blade type), astragal seals for double-leaf doors, and mortise drop-down automatic bottom seals. All seals are matched to the door type and fire rating.

Door Closers

Overhead door closers are a mandatory component of every fire door assembly — a fire door that cannot close and latch under its own power provides zero compartmentation. IFES supplies EN-rated overhead closers in rack-and-pinion and slide-arm configurations, sized for the door weight and width, including hold-open closers linked to the fire alarm system.

Panic Bars and Mortise Locks

Panic bars (push bars) and emergency exit hardware allow rapid single-motion egress from fire doors on escape routes. IFES supplies panic bars in stainless steel and powder-coated finishes with matching trims, along with mortise locks for non-escape route fire doors. Electromagnetic hold-open devices release on fire alarm, allowing self-closing of doors normally held open.

Hinges

Stainless steel ball-bearing butt hinges in CE-marked and ISI-marked grades for fire door applications. Three hinges per door leaf minimum as per IS:3614. Available in 100×75 mm and 100×100 mm sizes.

Fire-Rated Glass

Clear and wired fire-rated glass providing 1-hour and 2-hour fire resistance for vision panels, full-glazed fire doors, and fixed partition assemblies. Compliant with IS:3614-2021 vision panel requirements.

SS Hose Reel Cabinets

Stainless steel and MS powder-coated hose reel cabinets, standard size 750×600×250 mm (customisable). Float glass panel, flush handle, shaft lock. Used at fire hose reel stations throughout the building.

Fire Retardant Coatings and Cable Fire Barriers

Fire retardant paint for timber surfaces and fire retardant coating for electrical cables — passive protection slowing flame spread and smoke generation. Cable fire barriers seal electrical cable penetrations through fire-rated walls and floors, restoring the full compartmentation integrity at every service penetration point.
