The IFES Glazed Fire Door is a full-view metal fire-rated door combining the transparency and visual openness of a glazed door with certified 60-minute or 120-minute fire resistance. Constructed with a 1.6 mm GI steel frame and 60 mm thick shutter incorporating 2-hour fire-rated toughened clear glass, the IFES glazed fire door allows unobstructed sightlines through fire-rated compartment walls while maintaining full fire compartmentation performance as tested and certified under BS:476 Part 22 and IS:3614-2021 at CBRI Roorkee.
Available in powder coat, polyurethane coat, or wooden finish. Optional fixed partition sidelite panels available to complete wide architectural openings — see Glazed Fire Door with Partition (ID 9). Ideal for reception areas, lift lobbies, stairwell visual connections, office partitions, and any application where a fire-rated opening must remain visually transparent. Contact IFES for project specifications and quotation.
Modern commercial architecture increasingly demands open, visually connected spaces — lobby-to-stairwell sightlines, floor-to-ceiling transparency, and glass partitions that maintain spatial flow while satisfying fire safety compliance. The IFES glazed fire door meets this demand by combining a full-view glazed panel with certified 60-minute or 120-minute fire resistance in a single tested assembly.
The door frame is fabricated from 1.6 mm galvanised steel, providing the structural rigidity needed to retain fire-rated glass under the thermal stress conditions of a fire test. The shutter is 60 mm thick — deeper than a standard steel fire door — to accommodate the fire-rated glass panel within a thermally broken glazing system that prevents premature glass failure during the test duration.
The glass used in IFES glazed fire doors is 2-hour fire-rated toughened clear glass — a specialist product distinct from ordinary toughened or laminated glass. Fire-rated glass is manufactured to maintain its integrity (no cracking or breakthrough) and, in 2-hour-rated variants, also its insulation performance, throughout the rated fire period. Vision panel size is sized to the door and frame configuration, and larger full-view panels are available on request.
Intumescent fire seals on all four sides of the door leaf perimeter, cold smoke seals, three SS ball-bearing butt hinges, and EN-rated overhead door closer (mandatory). Optional: mortise lock, panic bar, electromagnetic hold-open device, and drop-down automatic bottom seal.
Standard finish: powder coat in any RAL shade. Polyurethane (PU) coat for enhanced durability and chemical resistance. Wooden finish (vinyl wrap or laminate) on request for premium interior applications.
60-minute and 120-minute fire resistance rated as per BS:476 Part 22 and IS:3614-2021, tested at CBRI Roorkee. ISI Mark under active BIS licence. Complete test and factory documentation supplied with every order.
Reception area entrance doors, lift lobby separation doors, stairwell glazed doors, office fire-rated partitions, hospital nurse station glazed doors, hotel lobby fire doors, and any location where a fire-rated door must remain visually open and transparent.
