SS Hose Box and MS Hose Reel Cabinet — Fire Hose Storage for All Building Types

The fire hose reel cabinet (commonly called the hose box or FHC box) is the protective enclosure for the fire hose reel at each fire point within a building. It protects the hose reel from physical damage, dust accumulation, and tampering; keeps the fire point tidy and unobtrusive in public areas; and provides clear visual identification of the fire fighting point through its colour coding and vision panel.

Material Options

Stainless Steel (SS) Hose Box: Grade 304 or 202 stainless steel, 1.2–2.0 mm sheet, polished finish (No. 4 satin or mirror polish on request). Preferred for premium commercial installations — hotel lobbies, corporate offices, hospitals, and any interior where the hose box is visible in a public or prestige area. Corrosion-resistant and maintenance-free, with a long service life even in humid environments.

MS Powder-Coated Hose Box: Mild steel, 1.2–2.0 mm sheet, powder-coated in red (RAL 3000) as standard. The standard specification for industrial buildings, warehouses, car parks, utility areas, and wherever cost-effectiveness is the primary criterion. Available in custom colours to match interior design requirements.

Construction and Hardware

Box body: fabricated from sheet steel with folded and welded or mechanically fastened corners. Door: full-front opening or partial (vision panel + opening section). Vision panel: 5 mm float glass panel — allows visual inspection of the hose reel status (hose properly coiled, nozzle in place) without opening the cabinet. Handle: flush recessed pull handle, polished SS or powder-coated as appropriate. Lock: shaft lock allowing emergency opening by authorised personnel while restricting casual access. Hinges: MS or SS butt hinges for smooth, reliable door operation.

Sizes

Standard size: 750×600×250 mm — accommodating the standard 20 mm bore × 36-metre hose reel drum. Custom sizes available for 25 mm bore hose reels, recessed wall alcove mounting, or non-standard reel drum dimensions. Multiple hose reel (double-door) configurations available for high-demand fire points.
