Automatic Fire Sprinkler System Design and Installation

A sprinkler system controls a fire while it is still small, usually before the fire service arrives and often before anyone has called them. Unlike a hydrant, it works whether or not a person is present. We design and install fire sprinkler systems to the hazard classification of the occupancy, following NBC 2016 Part IV.

Hazard classification drives everything

Sprinkler design begins with an honest classification — light hazard, ordinary hazard group I to III, or high hazard. That single decision fixes the design density, the assumed area of operation, the head spacing and ultimately the pump and tank size. Under-classifying a warehouse to save on pipe diameter is the most common and most expensive mistake in Indian sprinkler design.

System types we supply

  • Wet pipe — the default for heated, occupied buildings.
  • Dry pipe — for cold stores, loading docks and unheated spaces where a wet system would freeze or condense.
  • Pre-action — for server rooms, archives and areas where an accidental discharge would cause serious loss.
  • Deluge and water-spray arrangements for transformer yards and high-hazard process areas.

Interface with detection and compartmentation

Flow switches and tamper switches report to the fire alarm panel, so a sprinkler operation raises the building alarm and closes the fire doors on the same event. We specify the interface alongside the alarm system and the fire doors as one package.

Commissioning

Hydrostatic pipe test, flow test at the remote head, pump acceptance and a full set of as-built drawings and certificates for the fire NOC file.
