Fire Door Hardware, Frames and Seals
A fire door is certified as an assembly. Change the hinges, fit a non-rated lock or leave out the intumescent strip, and the test evidence no longer describes what is actually installed. Most fire door failures found during inspection are hardware failures, not leaf failures.
Fire rated door frames
The fire rated door frame is part of the tested assembly, not an accessory to it. We manufacture pressed steel frames in single-rebate and double-rebate profiles, sized to the wall thickness, with anchor details for masonry, RCC and drywall openings — each with the correct fixing centres for the rating.
Intumescent and smoke seals
- Intumescent strips that expand on heating to close the leaf-to-frame gap.
- Combined intumescent and brush smoke seals, where cold smoke control is required — which is most escape routes.
- Threshold drop seals for doors that must also control smoke at floor level.
Certified ironmongery
- Intumescent-backed ball-bearing hinges rated for the leaf weight.
- Door closers with adjustable closing and latching speed, plus delayed action where accessibility requires it.
- Fire rated mortice locks, latches and lever handle sets.
- Panic bars and emergency exit push pads for escape doors.
- Electromagnetic hold-open devices released by the fire alarm panel.
Fire rated sliding doors
Where a swing leaf cannot be accommodated — narrow corridors, equipment access, trolley routes — we supply fire rated sliding doors with a fail-safe closing mechanism that operates on alarm or power loss.
Specify it as one package
Ordering leaf, frame, seal and ironmongery from one supplier is the simplest way to guarantee that what is installed matches what was tested.
