Cable Fire Barrier

IFES supplies cable fire barriers for sealing electrical cable penetrations through fire-rated walls, floors, and slabs. When a cable tray or conduit passes through a fire-rated compartment boundary, the penetration creates a gap that destroys the fire resistance of the wall or floor — allowing fire, smoke, and toxic gases to spread freely from one compartment to the next. IFES cable fire barriers restore the full fire resistance rating of the compartment boundary at every cable penetration point.

Available as intumescent block/pillow systems and intumescent board systems, IFES cable fire barriers are sized to fill the cable penetration opening — around and between cables — and expand to seal the opening completely on fire exposure. Rated for 1-hour and 2-hour fire resistance. Supplied with installation documentation and fire test certificates for fire NOC submissions.
