Fire Curtain

IFES Fire Curtains are motorised, gravity-fail-safe fabric barriers that deploy automatically from a concealed ceiling-mounted cassette on fire alarm activation, forming a continuous fire and smoke barrier without permanent structural obstruction. Designed for lift doors, lift lobbies, escalator voids, staircases, and open-plan commercial areas, IFES fire curtains provide fire compartmentation across wide openings where conventional fire doors are not feasible.

The curtain fabric is woven silica or fibreglass with a specialist fire-resistant coating that blocks flame, radiant heat, and smoke. Battery backup ensures deployment even during power failure. On alarm reset, the motor rewinds the curtain back into its housing — invisible at rest, fully effective when needed. Compliant with BS 8524 and accepted under NBC 2016 Part IV for fire compartmentation at lift lobbies and escalator voids. IFES supplies, installs, and maintains fire curtain systems with full commissioning and annual maintenance contracts.
